Alex Lifeson was a guest soloist in Porcupine Tree's "Anesthetize"

It's one's dream to meet their favorite musicians, the people they grew up listening to, the people that were included at the most important moments of their lives. You can imagine the hype that Steven Wilson got after learning that Alex Lifeson of Rush was a big fan of Porcupine Tree. It is one thing to meet your idols, and them liking your music os a whole different story.
After learning Alex's sympathy for PT, Steven invited him to play a solo for the album that he was currently working on - which was Anesthetize. He would later recall all the buzz with these words:
"I really didn't know [Alex Lifeson] knew anything about Porcupine Tree until I read an interview with him in a British magazine. He mentioned really liking Porcupine Tree, and I fell off my chair when I read that because I grew up listening to Rush and I've always thought Alex was one of the most underrated guitarists in rock."
