From Smashing Pumpkins to Dayseeker, alternative music is still making the top of the 2021 charts. If you are out of the loop, continue reading to find out which 6 bands/musicians will win their audience's hearts in 2021!

1) Smashing Pumpkins

Being already famous but inactive for a while, Smashing Pumpkins are up on lists again. With their new album Cyr released in November 2020, Smashing Pumpkins showed that they're still in the form! They kept gaining listeners in 2021 and we expect them to continue doing so.

2) Foo Fighters

With their February 2021 release Medicine at Midnight, David Grohl and the band achieved great success. Being their ninth album, "Making a Fire" and "Waiting On A War" were the two songs to trend. They've also released Medicine at Midnight - Track Commentary where they talk about style and different methods used in specific songs.

3) Nothing But Thieves

Third on the list is Nothing But Thieves. Their third studio album, Moral Panic, is released in October 2020. Compared with the peak positions in all charts, the album is as successful as their previous one, Broken Machine.

4) 408

408 is a band from Summer 2020. Alt-punk act Drop Out has quickly gained the attention of many fans around the world. The Orlando band's single “All My Friends” already sits at over 600k streams after only 8 months thanks to their charming vocal harmonies and passion-driven choruses.

5) Dry Cleaning

Another newly trending band is Dry Cleaning. The London-based group Dry Cleaning offers a unique post-punk sound full of guitar riffs and a dynamic bass. After the song begins, you're instantly consumed by the vocals from lead singer Flo Shaw. In the blink of an eye, the song is finished, you completely disconnect from where you are, what you are doing, who you are but somehow maintain an impulse to take the trip again. With their Strong Feelings released on 9 February 2021, they are trending until now.

6) Dayseeker

The sixth on our list is the relatively small band Dayseeker. Having released their last album Sleeptalk in 2019, surprisingly, Dayseeker is trending in 2021! Pairing metal rock style with pop vocals was the key to success for Dayseeker. While boldly incorporating subtle electronic production, Dayseeker creates shimmering undertones that act behind the rock sound.
